"I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord."
Questions for Prayer:
There is a trend in modern Christianity to view worship and learning together in Church as irrelevant and unnecessary. Why do you think David was glad when his companions wanted to worship together in the synagogue?
When Elijah fled from Ahab and Jezebel, he lamented to God that he was all alone and on the run. God revealed that not only had He reserved 7,000 people who had only worshiped Him and not served idols, but He had had also prepared a constant support for Elijah in the form of Elisha. Why is it so tempting for Christians to go it alone and not seek out other Christians for support?
Both Jesus and the author of Hebrews made it clear that meeting together for worship and preaching is imperative for Christians. "For where two or three meet in my name, there I will be also", "Let us not give up the habit of meeting together, as some are doing". Even Christians who are in areas of extreme persecution (i.e. China) refuse to stop meeting together. What are some benefits of corporate worship over individual worship, and why do you think persecuted Christians are willing to risk imprisonment and even death to obtain them?
