Sin is General, Trespasses are Specific.
Questions for Prayer:
We have seen before that God required the Sin Offering for unintentional sin. Why do you think God instituted the Trespass Offering for specific and intentional sin? What was the differentiation?
The Trespass Offering involved three concepts: the lamb as atonement for us in place of us for our sins, restitution to restore what we have taken, and compensation above and beyond as a form of reparation for our sins. This applies to our lives now as well. How does this apply to our relationship with God? To our finances? To our relationships with others as well?
"So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift." What does this say about the correlation with maintaining healthy relationships with each other and correct worship of God?
